FINISHES WOODS
In the past ten years Modenese Gastone has turned towards eco-compatible finishes, very innovative materials, if compared to traditional furniture, using only non-toxic paint and wood preservatives for the manufacturing of all its very fine woods .
The thinners we use, not only penetrate deep into the wood’s fibers bringing out its grain, but they’re also eco-compatible, and help create a protective film over the piece of furniture.
Shellac is also very important in our production process. We apply it over the furniture with a cotton and linen buffer with circular movements, as tradition wants. After we pass a very light grain pumice stone with a drop of a light straw color oil to obtain a delicate silky effect.
We finish with beewax added with turpentine, which gives a nice smell to the wood, and a velvety feeling to the touch. Besides the different lacquered, decapé, walnut, cherry tree and double-colored samples, we can also customize at request your piece of furniture, choosing among the whole RAL color scale. Most of our manufacturing process is done by hand, for this reason the colors of the finishes are published just as reference guide, but cannot be used as a base of comparison
